A Day of Sporting Excitement

On Thursday 15 August, the annual "King of the Beach" amateur beach volleyball tournament took place at Surfers Paradise, and it was another day full of sporting action and fun. This tournament, a beloved tradition, attracted enthusiastic participants again this year, all competing for the coveted title of King of the Beach.

Starting at 2pm, eight teams competed in a 2-on-2 format. The teams were divided into pools, with each match played in one set. This made for fast, intense matches, where every point counted. After the pool matches, the best teams progressed to the semi-finals, and eventually an exciting final was played.

The final winners of the tournament were proud to call themselves the King of the Beach 2024. As a reward for their great performance, each of the winners received a bottle of cava, a well-deserved prize after an afternoon of effort.

One of the best aspects of this tournament was that participation was completely free, which ensured an accessible and inclusive atmosphere. Everyone, from experienced beach volleyball players to enthusiastic beginners, was welcome to join in and enjoy the sportsmanship and fun that this tournament brought.

The "King of the Beach" tournament was once again a great success and strengthens the close-knit community around Surfers Paradise. We are already looking forward to the next edition and hope to welcome many sports enthusiasts to the beach again. See you next year!
