Every year, Surfers Paradise in Knokke-Heist organises a sports day for people with disabilities. This year it was on Wednesday 19 June 2024!
Together with Wind and Water Sports Flanders we would like to make surfing more widely known, including among people with physical, auditory, visual or mental disabilities. With material and sessions fully adapted to everyone's needs.
The activities were wave surfing and boogie boarding. This at sea, but within the breakwaters, so close to shore and up to about hip height of an adult person. Wave surfing is a sport where we go out onto the water with a board and ride the wave straight up.
Boogieboarding is a sport in which you ride the waves with a softer, smaller board in the prone position.
